As a Utility Worker, you’ll join a collaborative team ensuring that our clients can deliver their services - uninterrupted. Based at The Villages, FL, you’ll have the opportunity to perform a variety of tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains appearance of all company properties. Includes all grounds surrounding the facilities.
  • This will include mowing, tilling, and spraying of grounds.
  • Operation of tractor for mowing, tilling, and spraying of grounds.
  • Completes preventative maintenance work orders as well as client request work orders.
  • Performs preventative maintenance tasks and maintains equipment - ensuring it is kept in working order.
  • This job reports directly to the Deputy Project Manager.
  • Assists transporting and/or securing materials, completing specific tasks, etc. for the purpose of completing projects in a safe, effective manner.
  • Attends meeting, workshops and trainings.
  • Coordinates with supervisor and other trades for the purpose of completing projects and work orders efficiently.
  • Maintains records for the purpose of providing up to date information and/or historical reference in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Maintains vehicles, tools and equipment for the purpose of ensuring availability in safe operating conditions. Performs a variety of general maintenance activities for the purpose of completing projects within the established time frames.
  • Performs or reports preventative maintenance on systems for the purpose of providing a safe and workable environment.
  • Performs a variety of general grounds keeping for the purpose of maintaining safe and attractive areas.
  • Processes written materials (e.g. work orders, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and/or conveying information.
  • Repairs a variety of equipment, systems, and/or structural items for the purpose of ensuring a safe working condition.
  • Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of ensuring availability of items required to complete the necessary installation and/or repair.
  • Coordinates with Deputy on schedule, progress, and issues.
  • Follow all safety measures that are stressed and set by the safety coordinator and report any possible safety hazards to both the Deputy Project Manager and Safety Coordinator.
  • Other responsibilities may include assisting other various teams at times such as the facility painting team or other teams as designated by lead person, based on growing season.
  • Works towards CDL to be able to pull company equipment around site.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Working Conditions:

PLEASE NOTE - Working in many types of local weather conditions (below 32 degrees and over 100 degrees). The ability to walk long distances, repetitive motions include sitting, standing, stooping and lifting. The work area can involve a working environment of indoors as well as outdoors, which could cause exposure to outdoor elements, proper environmental attire will be required. Some areas can have loud noise, active machinery, high pressure fluid systems, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights and depth, fumes, airborne particles, noxious gases, pathogens and various chemicals. The use of appropriate safety equipment will be mandatory in these areas to prevent hazardous contact. Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, twist and bend at the waist, turn, kneel, squat, raise arms above shoulder height, grasp reach, perform repetitive hand movements and fine coordination to work on equipment have sufficient vision to service equipment, and have hearing in the normal range with or without correction. In an 8-hour shift you must be able to walk up to 8 miles, lift objects up to 50 pounds from floor level to waist height wear and use the appropriate safety equipment.
