Job Description
Collins Aerospace is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer with a passion for engineering and the desire to be part of an innovative, dedicated team responsible for future development and testing of the GLU-2100 Multi-Mode Receiver (MMR) product-line. The GLU-2100 is the industry’s leading MMR and continues to be the industry’s most capable, fully digital receiver which integrates the next-generation Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receiver, Instrument landing system (ILS), GPS landing system (GLS) and VHF omni-directional receiver (VOR). Candidates are expected to be an active member of a cross-functional team during all phases of an engineering system development project. Responsibilities include systems level requirements definition, design, integration, and system verification activities. This position will also offer the opportunity to work closely with our domestic and international partners and customers in the development of the system.
This is an onsite position in Melbourne, Florida.
What You Will Do:
- Specific responsibilities of this position span all phases of system product development including system requirements analysis, definition, allocation, and validation, system architecture design
- System integration and requirements verification testing
- System modeling and simulation; coordination among systems, hardware, and software design functions; and developing systems related documentation.
- Senior engineers will be available to provide mentoring to develop your skills as a system engineer and to increase your depth of knowledge in Navigation and GPS technologies.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
- Aerospace industry is required
- Working knowledge in MATLAB/Simulink simulation
- Experience with Python, Perl or other script writing tools
- System level requirements decomposition/analysis, system design and allocation to subsystems/products System integration planning and execution, and system level verification and validation.
- Interfacing with system, subsystem, and product teams in the allocation of system level requirements, decomposition into lower-level requirements and design decisions, and resolution of problem reports
- Exhibiting strong team skills working with both domestic and international team members
- Effective time management and ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Working knowledge with space dynamics and satellite maneuvering
- Experience with GNSS algorithms development
- Working with other disciplines such as Hardware and Software
- Experience with radio navigation products, especially Multi-Mode Receiver (MMR)
- Working knowledge of avionics regulations and certification standards including TSO, DO 160, DO 254, and DO 178B/C
- Working knowledge of Guidelines for Development of Civil Aircraft and Systems ARP4754

Onsite Role

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
