Job Description

This position is responsible for providing quality objectives for the business unit in accordance with RTX quality policies and procedures and in compliance with applicable contractual requirements. This individual must be able to work within cross-functional teams to meet and improve upon established quality and delivery goals.

The position will be a focal point for quality issues, as well as responsible for continuing to develop and improve the processes associated with compliance to Collins Aerospace Quality Standards. This position operates in the following functional areas: Quality Assurance, Quality System Validation, Supply Chain Quality Assurance, or Material Verification.

What You Will Do:

  • Performs preliminary review and Material Review Board analysis of First Article Inspection Reports and disposition of nonconforming material.
  • Evaluates Collins Aerospace or supplier products and processes.
  • Analyzes root causes of deficiencies and ensures proper corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner.
  • Applies quality standards for receiving, in-process, and final inspection in accordance with Collins Aerospace and contractual requirements.
  • Provides support to manufacturing operations in the review of products and of engineering and manufacturing processes.
  • Maintains a working relationship with key customer procurement organizations to the benefit of the customer and Collins Aerospace.
  • Maintains quality data records, compiles information, and prepares reports for internal and external customers.
  • Performs duties required by the Quality Management System.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
  • Must have flexible work schedule and may be required to work on off-hours and weekends.
  • Manufacturing/Quality Experience

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Read and Interpretation of engineering drawings (Dimension, tolerance, and basic GD&T).
  • Familiar with industry specification and standards interpretation.
  • Familiar with inspection methods and techniques.
  • Experience leading teams with continuous improvement principles, Six Sigma, lean, 5S etc.
  • Familiar with problem solving techniques like PDCA.
  • Able to make quick decisions based in facts and risk analysis, even under high-pressured situations.
  • Familiar with AS9102 and or First Article Inspection process and requirements.
  • Familiar with ERP systems, preferably SAP.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
