Job Description
This position will lead the Quality Assurance team supporting the production team in Melbourne, FL. This position will have a team of Quality Engineers reporting to it. This role executes tactical plans for the achievement of short- and long-term initiatives to reduce escapes, defects and scrap while improving Customer Satisfaction.
What You Will Do:
- Provides Quality leadership and manages the daily activities of the functional Quality Assurance Engineering group
- Assigns technical resources to work assignments (workforce allocation) and primary point of contact for resource issue resolution
- Facilitate technical and career development of engineers and technicians.
- Develops and implements plans, guidelines, policies, and processes, to ensure the achievement of quality targets
- Leads implementation of proactive organization projects and processes to ensure overall quality is continuously improving
- Oversees quality improvement processes to ensure on-going reductions in Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and escapes
- Manages Root Cause Corrective Action teams to reduce scrap, reduce defects and improve customer satisfaction
- Manages teams collecting and analyzing quality information from multiple sources to develop long-term quality strategy and programs
- Manages teams providing production process analyses, ensuring quality standards are met and making recommendations for quality improvement
- Manages team in efforts to develop and implement program quality plans and procedures
- Prepares and maintains Quality documentation
- Actively addresses employee performance and organizational alignment
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
- Fundamental understanding and prior management of aerospace or other comprehensive quality management systems, such as ISO9001 and/or AS9100 International Standard.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills are required along with the ability to establish effective communication and working relationships with all levels and functions
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience in a manufacturing or aerospace environment
- Experience leading teams of quality professionals
- Experience executing RTX Zero, 6 Sigma or LEAN practices
- Preferred degree or experience in operations management or engineering background
- Knowledge of new product introduction tools; PFMEA, Control Plans, Gage Capability, Process Capability, Process Flow, etc.
- Understanding of problem-solving methods – i.e. 8D, root cause analysis – and the associated statistical tools used to analyze problems.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
