Purpose and Scope:
The Cost Estimator II delivers accurate, discipline‑wide construction cost estimates that support the planning and execution of industrial facilities maintenance and infrastructure projects. The role performs comprehensive quantity take‑offs, analyzes labor, material, equipment, and productivity factors, and applies established estimating tools and standards to generate reliable ROM and task‑level cost data. Working closely with project stakeholders and customers, the position ensures estimates align with defined scope, schedule, and budget requirements while maintaining thorough documentation and contributing to timely project delivery.
Job Duties and Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform Construction Cost Estimating activities in support of industrial base operations and maintenance of facilities infrastructure.
- Ability to complete full quantity take-offs to support accurate estimates for all disciplines in industrial projects including, but not limited to civil and site work, structural, concrete, envelope, finishes, mechanical, and electrical.
- A complete understanding of the interrelationship of the cost of labor, material, equipment, and productivity in the unit costs used at each level of an estimate is expected.
- Provide solid critical-thinking, analytical and communication skills in support of Project objectives.
- Maintain close attention to detail and manage time and meet aggressive deadlines.
- Exhibit proficiency in utilization of RS Means Estimating software.
- Ensure assigned projects are completed on time, and within approved scope and budget.
- Establish and maintain a filing system or database as needed for tracking project status.
- Develop, maintain, and produce documentation in support ROM and Task Plan efforts.
- Interface with customers to comply with scope and schedule requirements.
- Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
Required Education/Certifications/Experience:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Equivalent experience may be substituted for degree
- 5+ years of job-related experience.
- Experience in HVAC and Fire Protection construction preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in ability to navigate through all sections of cost estimating software.
Required Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient working knowledge of RS Means or similar Construction Cost Estimating software. Good communications and analytical skills.
- Working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.
- Working knowledge in MS Office Suite.
- Demonstrated experience in meeting schedule deadlines.
Other Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain required clearances/badges as required by program and position
- Must have the ability to communicate in English, both verbal and written in an effective manner.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
This position involves work typical of an office environment with no unusual hazards; occasional lifting to 20 pounds; constant sitting with use of computer terminal; constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents; constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication; constant mental alertness; must possess planning/organizing skills and must be able to work under deadlines. Field work will consist primarily of site walk downs in support of design projects and system trouble shooting Site hazard training and Personal Protective Equipment are provided.

90K-100K
