Lockheed Martin has an exciting opportunity for a Thermal Analysis Mechanical Engineer in Orlando, FL.
This position is targeting a Level 2 candidate, but we are willing to consider Level 1 candidates with strong experiences.
This person will be a member of the Mechanical Analysis team and be responsible for the development of thermal analysis for mechanical, structural, optical, thermal, and electronic systems and assemblies.

Responsibilities
As a Thermal Analysis Engineer, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Research and development of viable thermal and structural solutions for systems and components.
- Create and correlate analytical models to provide guidance for product development.
- Conduct performance, structural and thermal tests and measurements.
- Report and document product structural and thermal performance.
- Assess design merits with regard to product specification and reliability.
- Work with materials and parts suppliers, including plastics, composites, wrought and cast metals, ceramics, additive materials, fans, blowers, heat-sinks, and thermal interface materials.
Basic Qualifications:
- Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering (or related field). Pursuing or having a master's degree is highly preferred.
- Strong practical knowledge in heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics principles, etc. demonstrated through strong academic performance, internships, projects, or other experience.
- Familiarity with (FEA) Finite Element tools (SimCenter 3D Thermal) and/or (CFD) Computational Fluid Dynamics (FloEFD) tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical issues, demonstrated through hands-on experience.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, demonstrated through successful group / individual projects and collaborations.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and have the ability to obtain a Department of Defense clearance.
Desired Skills:
- Experience in active thermal control hydraulics and refrigeration as it relates to the Aerospace sector.
- Demonstrated strength in thermal analysis with a desire to learn more.
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills for generating test plans, test reports, documentation, and potentially proposals are necessary.
- Experience with MIL-STD-810, environmental test plans, and execution.
- Demonstrated strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good writing and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in Windows/Microsoft Office Suite: Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Active secret clearance.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
