Technical Training Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Technical Training Coordinator responsibilities include communicating with manager to identify training needs and mapping out technical development plans for teams and individuals. Training Coordinators are responsible for managing, coordinating, and ensuring trainers are prepared to conduct training programs. Coordinator will manage training needs in the Operations, Health & Safety, Maintenance, Aircraft and Quality organization training programs, policies, and procedures. Will be responsible for the administrative duties of maintaining training documentations. Training sessions for employees may also include safety policies and procedures, sexual harassment awareness training, and any others as assigned. Position will also have direct hands-on involvement dealing with all programs associated to the Learning Management System (LMS).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain all qualification records in LMS for all US based locations
  • Create new and edit existing item ID’s in LMS
  • Schedule all training sessions in Empower in support of new hire onboarding, production, logistics, paint, engineering, and planning in MLB & JAX
  • Credit all training sessions in Empower in support of new hire onboarding, production, logistics, paint, engineering, and planning in MLB & JAX
  • Create instructor profiles in LMS
  • Maintain internal catalog of existing course content
  • Generate reports and analyze training data; report out to functional managers
  • Implement new read & sign documents regarding procedural changes and process improvements in doc.embs
  • Answer all Treinamento email inquiries for US (forwarded from Brazil)
  • Map equivalencies in courses between sites and markets
  • Assign and remove required training to individual contributors and departments as needed
  • Import external training content into the LMS
  • Create training locations in the LMS for all sites in US
  • Manually process training credit when the system fails to update CBT certificates
  • Track and report on annual training units in Melbourne
  • Schedule all training content led by internal Knowledge Partners
  • Schedule training content led by Brazilian Knowledge Partners; virtual and in-person in support of production for MLB and JAX
  • Manage training course requests (EMpower and email/in-person)
  • For training staff, conduct onboarding, training, one on ones, and alignment meetings
  • For Manufacturing Engineering, assist in development of training matric, Knowledge Partner assignments, qualification process for Knowledge Partner, and assign technical topics for instructional design support
  • Design and track new hire onboarding surveys
  • Maintain IGA request processes related to contracted personnel
  • For EHS, manage Vector Solutions curriculum package, update SCORM packages in Empower to support changes in vendor launch paths as well as site specific IDs, assist in new program developments
  • For P3E, schedule Lean Academy training for US and Europe, schedule DOJO sessions in Empower, credit all training for MLB, attend Lean Academy NA meetings, and process historical data into EMpower
  • For MLB, assist with answering to audit findings
  • Support SAC for training action items, implement new content in relation to production buy offs and OJT tasks, and implement improvements for training doc.emb
  • For EETC, develop and manage TCR process for training assignments, support implementation of MRB Seats EMpower R&S and OJT task list automation, and schedule EETC learning Series Components
  • For JAX, process historical training credit to EMpower for buy off qualification in MLB, coordinate MRB configuration courses with Brazil, and review A-29 vendor curriculum package.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Education:

  • High School Diploma required, preference to a technical degree in aviation or bachelor’s degree in Communications or related area

Experience:

  • At least two years of experience in training, conducting practical training and/or on-the-job training
  • Prefer practical experience with audit procedures (may be met by formal auditor training, prior experience as an auditor)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of safety and operating procedures while working around aircraft
  • Knowledgeable of the following applicable regulations: FAA; NFPA; OSHA
  • Ability to understand company Standard Operation Procedures
  • Have good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Adobe PDF X
  • Demonstrates and knowledge of procedures being taught
  • Able to communicate clearly in written and verbal communication
  • Able to deliver and develop training programs, including outlines, handouts, and tests to set standards
  • Analyze technical requirements

Working Conditions / Environment / Special Requirements

  • FAA, OSHA, EPA, State and Federal regulations
  • Position will work normal business hours but occasionally requires flexible hours and different shifts as needed, to include weekends and/or 2nd/3rd shift schedule
