Amentum is seeking a Systems Engineer Professional (Test Engineer) to support the Space Force Range Contract (SFRC).
Key Responsibilities
- Test Planning and Procedure Development: Collaborate with senior engineers to develop, document, and maintain comprehensive test plans and procedures for various range subsystems.
- Test Execution: Configure and operate test equipment to perform integration, functional, and regression testing on hardware and software components.
- Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret test data from multiple sources to verify system performance against design requirements and identify anomalies.
- Troubleshooting: Investigate and diagnose issues discovered during testing, working with cross-functional teams to drive toward a resolution.
- System Integration: Support the integration of new and modified subsystems into the existing range architecture, ensuring seamless interoperability.
- Reporting: Generate clear and concise test reports to document test execution, results, and any discovered defects.
- Subsystem Focus: Conduct testing on a variety of systems, including:
- Communications: RF links, network data, and voice systems.
- Telemetry: Real-time data acquisition, processing, and distribution.
- Radar: Tracking and data-processing systems.
- Optics: Sensor calibration and performance verification.
- Weather Systems: Sensor accuracy and data-flow validation.
- Data Handling: Data recording, processing, and distribution networks.
- Range Safety: Command, control, and display systems.
- Timing & Sequence: Precision timing distribution and event sequencing.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related STEM field.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in a test engineering or systems engineering role.
- Familiarization with standard electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and spectrum analyzers.
- Basic understanding of RF principles, data acquisition, and network fundamentals.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred:
- An active DoD Secret security clearance.
- Experience in the aerospace, defense, or space launch industry.
- Direct experience with telemetry, radar, or satellite communication systems.
- Knowledge of Agile or other structured development methodologies.
- Experience working in a government or military environment.
Compensation Details:
$80,000 - $90,000
