As a Systems Engineer, you will serve as the FBM Program System Safety Engineer, focusing on performing and leading safety analysis across the FBM program.
In this role you will:
- Analyze hardware and software, establish and maintain system safety requirements in support of the system safety program.
- Develop and/or update Preliminary Hazard List (PHL), Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), Functional Hazard Analyses (FHAs), and Safety Assessment Reports (Safety Assessment Report (SAR)) in accordance with MIL-STD-882.
- Prepare presentations and participate in Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, Technical Interchange Meetings, and various working groups and safety review meetings
- Develop and/or update system safety documents to support customer, system safety, and contractual requirements
- Review and provide input to requirements, design, and test procedures for adherence to system safety requirements

Basic Qualifications:
- A minimum of a BS in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent education, with 1 year of professional experience; or Masters degree. Considered career, or journey, level.
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of system safety design and operations safety principles to include experience with one or all of the following: hazard identification, analysis, risk mitigation, safety requirements management, and associated deliverable documentation.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to engage and interact in group meeting/working environments with team members, development, organizations and customers.
- US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance
Desired Skills:
- Experience using MIL-STD-882E, or other relevant industry and/or safety standards
- Experience developing Safety Assessment Report (SAR), and/or other system safety assessment documentation.
- Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
Security Clearance Statement:
This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely:
Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
