Key Responsibilities:

The candidate will perform the SOW of the E-2D Avionics HECTR Product Owner guiding the development of the architecture while coordinating with the HECTR Technical Lead

  • Product Owner provides engineering support to the HECTR Technical Lead and Scrum Master to define the items in the Product Backlog and lead the team in all PI Planning events and makes sure each task aligns to the program IMS
  • Provide engineering support to the HECTR Technical Lead engineer for requirements development, trade study development, supplier management, and HW/SW integration of aircraft avionics systems in Lab / Flight Test
  • Product Owner provides engineering efforts to manage the HECTR project features and User Stories to optimize Return-On-Investment (ROI)
  • Engineering oversight to work with the HECTR Technical Lead to prioritize features / User Stories according to our USN and Supplier stakeholder needs
  • Engineering effort to Inspect the current Features / User Stories in the current Sprint (Agile Process) and adapt the Product Backlog based on the amount of Points (workload) assigned to the entire team
  • Lead the engineering effort to modify/change features and User Stories and assign priority every sprint while closely coordinating with program Schedulers, Scrum Master, and HECTR Technical Lead
  • Product Owner will lead the engineering effort to communicate HECTR Project Progress & Status to E-2D Program Leadership
  • Cross-IPT Team Engineering efforts: Product Owner accepts or rejects work from the development team, coordinates work across IPTs to keep track of Givers/Receivers and all Risks & Dependencies.

A successful Product Owner has good leadership skills and understands the scope of the work and the impact of the work on other teams. The Product Owner consistently brings up concerns, issues and risk and holds team to a high level of technical rigor.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline, AND 14 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering, OR a Master’s degree AND 12 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering, or a Ph.D. AND 9 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and any required Special Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable amount of time for business needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous Agile, Product Owner and/or Scrum Master experience
  • Leadership experience managing a team of diverse engineering IPT Groups
  • Avionics Engineering experience with Flight Control Systems, Displays, and Mission Computers
  • Communication, Navigation, Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) experience
  • RNP RNAV certification experience - process for attaining certification
  • Experience designing to RTCA DO-178 commercial standards for RNP RNAV certification
  • Experience designing to RTCA DO-200 standard

Primary Level Salary Range: $152,900.00 - $229,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
