The Northrop Grumman Classified Solutions team is seeking a highly experienced senior Network Firewall Administrator to join its dynamic team of technical professionals. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems support team in Melbourne, FL.

Note: Due to the classified nature of the work being performed, this position does not offer any virtual or telecommute working options. Applicants are encouraged to apply, only if they are willing to work on-site.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Provides technical direction and implementation of firewall, IDS/IPS, and security control design and integration for physical and cloud-based systems
  • Collaborates with Systems Engineers and Cyber Team to design and implement Zero-Trust and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) solutions
  • Serve as the senior technical authority and escalation point for complex firewall, perimeter security, and cross-domain protection issues
  • Serves as IT technical lead and advisor for security compliance, inspection activities, system accreditation, and other support activities to Cyber Security Team
  • Leads implementation of firewall, data center and cloud integrations, and segmentation initiatives
  • Establish governance processes for rule validation, configuration baselines, policy stewardship, and continuous monitoring
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), policy guides, STIG compliance reports, and configuration baselines
  • Troubleshoot endpoint security issues, analyze root causes, tune policies to reduce false positives, and automate remediation workflows as needed
  • Make recommendations on the purchase of hardware, software, and system components
  • Interact, meet, discuss, and troubleshoot issues with vendors; evaluate vendor products, services, and suggestions
  • Adhere to strict Information Systems security guidelines in all cases.
  • Maintain security audit and logging information on all classified networked and standalone computers as directed by the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM)
  • Work under minimal direction and independently determine and develop approach to solutions
  • Lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree with 6 years of relevant experience; OR a Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of relevant experience; OR an Associate's Degree with 10 years of relevant experience; OR a High School diploma (or equivalent) with 12 years of relevant experience is required
  • Must have a DOD 8140 baseline certification (example: Security+ or greater); OR must have the ability to obtain one within 6 months of start date
  • Candidates must have the ability to obtain, and maintain, a DOD Secret clearance as a condition of employment
  • Candidates must have the ability to obtain, and maintain, access to Special Programs as a condition of continued employment
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in network security architecture design and implementation
  • Experience operating under and managing systems within NISPOM Chapter 8, DCID 6/3-ICD 503, RMF, STIG, JAFAN, or JSIG information system environments
  • Experience with configuration and administration of Next Gen firewalls (Palo Alto, Forcepoint, Cisco, Etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related discipline
  • Active Secret, Top Secret, TS/SCI, Polygraph, or SAP/SAR access
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, or previous management of small teams
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure
  • Experience with Certification & Accreditation process
  • Preferred candidate will be familiar with Tenable and Nessus scans for vulnerability and controls implementation

Primary Level Salary Range: $111,700.00 - $167,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
