The Northrop Grumman CIDO Classified Solutions team is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cyber Systems Engineer to support the infrastructure to integrate and test various systems within our cyber environment. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site, full-time at our Melbourne, FL location.

Note: Due to the classified nature of the work being performed, this position does not offer any virtual or telecommute working options. Applicants are encouraged to apply, only if they are willing to work on-site.

This role involves coordinating all cyber aspects related to avionics equipment integration, hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) simulations, and other advanced testing environments. The ideal candidate will have experience with cyber systems integration and a strong understanding of testing methodologies, ensuring that all systems meet performance and security requirements.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

Perform Lab Infrastructure Design, Deployment, Configuration, and Management

Lead and oversee desktop virtualization and host system administration.

Perform both Network & Security functions necessary to operate multiple Software Development environments at various classification levels

Design and implement software and automation tools to assist both customer development teams and maintenance operations.

Provide expertise in configuring and conducting hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and simulations.

Support the integration of avionics systems into test environments, ensuring they meet compatibility and performance requirements.

Collaborate with teams to develop and maintain aircraft simulations that accurately reflect operational scenarios.

Participate in the setup and operation of Test Stations, such as the Mission System Integration Test Station (MSITS) and the Vehicle System Integrated Test Station (VSITS), for comprehensive system testing.

Implement and manage cyber networking solutions to ensure secure and efficient communication between test systems and components.

Document test procedures, results, and best practices to support ongoing assurance and compliance efforts.

Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve integration issues and ensure successful system performance.

Proactively research and analyze industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to test station engineering and cyber systems.

Willingness to embrace change and work in a dynamic environment.

May require alternate work schedules shift work, EWW and potentially some weekend work.

Potential travel (10%) to support program activities and integration.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of related professional experience; Master’s degree with 6 years of related experience; High school diploma (or equivalent) and 12 years of related professional experience may be considered in lieu of completed degree

Candidates must have a current US Government Secret security clearance (at a minimum), to include a closed investigation date completed within the last 5 years OR must be enrolled in the DOD Continuous Evaluation (CE) Program to be considered

Ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company

Current US Government 8570 Level II certification, such as Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, or CYSA+ or have the ability to obtain prior to starting within reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company

Experience performing with bare metal setup of development system servers, workstations, and equip

Linux OS and VMware experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical, Software, or Computer Engineering or Computer Science or related field from an ABET accredited university

Current US Government 8570 Level II certification, such as Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, or CYSA+

Experience creating, managing, and administering host clusters and virtual machines using VMware’s ESXi, vCenter, and vSphere solutions; familiarity with Linux KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine)

Proficiency in software development languages such as Python, C#, C++, SQL, Java, Bash, and PowerShell to design, troubleshoot, and deploy solutions in software development systems.

Experience developing IPV4 addressing conventions, focusing on secure segmentation, scalability, and future network growth.

Proficiency in cyber systems integration and networking principles.

Developing IPV4 addressing conventions, with a focus on secure segmentations, scalability, and future network growth.

Standing up network domain controllers, user accounts, and GPOs.

Applying necessary STIG configurations to Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Secure Host Baseline Windows bare metal and virtual machines while preserving necessary development functionality.

Running SCAP scans to identify, confirm, and mitigate security vulnerabilities.

Experience with various network storage solutions.

Familiarity with designing and creating engineering drawings for software development physical racks and layouts using tools such as AutoCAD, NX, and other engineering design software.

Experience physically building and integrating software development racks, simulation cockpits, and related equipment, coordinating across multiple teams for parts, equipment, and configuration requirements.

Experience with avionics equipment integration and testing methodologies.

Experience with test data acquisition systems, data configuration and collection software, as well as database development for measurand and test data

Familiarity with hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) testing and its application in system simulations.

Experience assessing and implementing technical solutions to meet software development customer requirements, working collaboratively with team members, internal customers, and external vendors or sectors.

Knowledge of aircraft simulation technologies and their integration into testing environments.

Knowledge of telemetry, onboard recording, data acquisition system equipment (Safran, TTC/Curtiss-Wright, and Quasonix for example…) and ground stations

Experience working with Laboratory Racks and understanding their operational requirements.

Strong oral and written communication skills, especially to develop easily read and followed documentation

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Primary Level Salary Range: $135,000.00 - $202,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
