Job Description

The role involves supporting the Military Avionics Material Management organization and all production programs at the Malabar and/or Palm Bay production facilities. This includes supporting all Supply Chain activities for purchased material items, such as design for supply chain success, material requisitioning, prioritization, material status, receipt, inventory, and customer disposition. The position also requires support for procurement efforts to maximize cost-effectiveness within the schedule requirements of each assigned contract. Identifying and evaluating common supply chain risks, as well as developing mitigation plans with guidance or as directed, are key components of the role. Additionally, the role involves facilitating and contributing to the most effective means of acquisition, receipt, distribution, and inventory management for assigned programs, developing a financial forecast for material, understanding the link between financial forecast and earned value management (EVMS), and participating in estimate to complete (EAC) reviews with finance and engineering. Furthermore, understanding different contract types, monitoring material budget variances, and reporting on supply chain health problems are essential tasks of this position.

Essential Functions:

  • Apply Supply Chain principles and concepts in compliance with FAR, DFARS, MAAR 13 and MMAS.
  • Basic understanding of how Supply Chain influences the annual operating plan to include demonstrated understanding of Supply Chain actions that influence orders, sales, profit, and cash flow.
  • Analytical; Solve problems of moderate complexity by leveraging experience and through analysis of data.
  • Identify trends and correlations in Material Management data; Report findings with recommended actions.
  • Thoroughly understands the use and purpose of MRP and supporting systems.
  • Can work independently with minimal guidance; identify required actions necessary to achieve assigned objectives.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with Supply Chain Management (SCM), Production Planning, and Logistics.
  • Act as the Cost Account Manager for material and MMAS labor.
  • Chair material status meetings. Provide targeted information for review by program teams. Participate in supplier calls with procurement. Deliver presentations to large audiences
  • Develop a financial forecast for material. Understand the link between financial forecast and earned value management (EVMS). Participate in estimate to complete (EAC) reviews with finance and engineering (EAC/ETC). Understand the different contract types. Maintain program material cost, delivery, and labor baseline including change requests. Take CAM certification training.
  • Work with program to develop acceptable material schedules that encompass lead-times and operational queue times.
  • Represent supply chain and provide input at gate reviews, EAC reviews and program reviews.
  • Master Production Schedule (MPS) and Material Requirement Planning (MRP) (under general supervision)
  • Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
