You will be the Senior Quality Engineer for the IRST program. Our team is responsible for delivering high‑performance infrared search‑track (IRST) solutions to meet mission‑critical requirements.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Senior Quality Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring product quality and compliance across the IRST portfolio.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Review documentation related to manufacturing processes to ensure product conformance and delivery.
  • Evaluate, identify root cause, and facilitate corrective action for complex nonconformances.
  • Lead failure investigations, corrective‑action boards, and quality audits.
  • Identify, control, and disposition nonconforming hardware per company policy.
  • Support and represent quality in design reviews, engineering change boards, and customer meetings.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors degree or higher in a STEM related discipline or equivalent education and experience.

Five (5) years of professional experience or three (3) years of professional experience with a related masters degree. Considered career or journey level.

Must be able to acquire and maintain a United States security clearance.

Desired Skills:

  • Expertise in quality assurance methods, tools, techniques, and principles in support of manufacturing, nonconformance management, root cause analysis, and test yield improvement.
  • Experience in production manufacturing and test
  • Experience in engineering development
  • Understanding and knowledge with Lockheed Martin nonconformance management systems (Apriso, AMS)
  • Ability to access and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical requirements.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Quality Management standards (for example, AS9100, AS9102, ISO9001)
  • Lean Six Sigma related knowledge and training

Security Clearance Statement:

This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
