Reliability Engineer Staff
Description:
As the Reliability Engineer you will be responsible for driving reliability growth across our production hardware. You’ll work hand in hand with design, test and manufacturing engineers, performing root cause studies, supporting reviews, and delivering data driven recommendations that keep our products flying high.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conduct Failure Mode, Effects & Criticality Analyses (FMECA) and generate reliability block diagrams.
- Develop and execute reliability growth plans; analyze trends to prioritize corrective actions.
- Support design reviews, test activities, and prepare for Failure Review Board (FRB) meetings.
- Participate in Corrective Action Boards (CAB) and Failure Review Boards, presenting findings and recommendations.
- Identify FRACAS trends, drive investigations, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Review Engineering Change Proposals (ECP) and contribute to Concept Screening Board (CSB) and Configuration Control Board (CCB) decisions.
- Recommend statistical process control methods and test techniques to achieve target reliability levels.
- Compile, analyze, and report performance data and process control statistics.
- Ensure all corrective actions satisfy established reliability standards.
- Collaborate daily with cross functional engineers, produce clear technical reports, and travel occasionally for board meetings or site visits.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must have or be able to obtain a Secret clearance.
- Experience with performing reliability predictions and analyses.
- Experience with reliability FRACAS and statistical data mining.
- Experience with the FMECA process.
- Ability to manage subcontractors in the Reliability field of expertise.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build effective working relationships.
- Additionally, candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills, technical writing experience, and an ability to perform oral presentations in front of large groups.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field from an accredited college with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related master’s degree.

- Experience with Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM)
- Strong electrical background with a good mechanical understanding
- Practical hands on experience with hardware test and troubleshooting.
- Analytical thinker with a demonstrated ability of solving complex problems which require ingenuity and innovation.
- Military experience
- Safety engineering knowledge
- Human Factors Engineering knowledge

Ability to Work Remotely:
Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position:
4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
