Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Product Repair/Modification Technician (Level B or C), to support the X-37B Orbital Test Vehicle (OTV) in Kennedy Space Center, FL!

Position Responsibilities (Level B):

Performs assigned duties as an individual or as a member of a cross-functional High-Performance Work Team

Operates computing equipment to access job information (e.g., drawings, specifications and other online information systems)

Uses various types of power tools, hand tools, and torque tools

Performs all elements of mechanical or electrical assembly from detailed work instructions, including reworks and repairs

Assists in maintaining, repairs, and modification of aircraft electrical components of moderate difficulty

Possess general shop skills including Foreign Object and Debris (FOD) prevention, material handling, safety, calibration requirements, ESD, and contamination control of precision clean systems

Assists with routine troubleshooting of pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults

Assists with validation/verification testing of systems and components

Fabricates and modifies aerospace products according to specifications

Performs tasks associated with the safe handling of an aerospace vehicle (e.g. jacking, towing, system operations)

Performs operations utilizing Self-Contained Atmospheric Protective Ensemble (SCAPE) personal protective equipment (PPE)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Ability to pass an annual propellant and Self Contained Atmospheric Protective Ensemble (SCAPE) physical and training for both category I and IV SCAPE operations

High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

Ability to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime

More than 1 year of experience reading and interpreting aerospace engineering drawings and blueprints

Ability to lift/carry up to 35 pounds; push/pull using up to 45 pounds of force; and reach overhead up to six hours per day

More than 1 year of experience in aerospace production and maintenance

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Level B: Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate).

Level C: Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.).

More than 1 year of experience with hardware integration for spacecraft, missile or aircraft systems

More than 1 year of experience working with various material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks and cranes

Experience with spacecraft hardware integration

Successful completion of a Tier 5 Investigation (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) by the federal government within the last 5 years, or have been enrolled in a Continuous Vetting program within the last 5 years

Summary pay range:

Level B: $57,800 - $78,200

Level C: $68,000 – $92,000
