Process Planner (Starship Launch Hardware)

PROCESS PLANNER (STARSHIP LAUNCH HARDWARE)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyze department performance and drive improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, and reliability
Provide data and reports on production performance to influence decisions on how to increase productivity
Assist supervisors and welders to coordinate shop and field activity to support project schedules
Demonstrate a high level of flexibility and ability to effectively coordinate team activity with all trades
Develop robust solutions for raw material availability and planning
Utilize internal SpaceX resources and external vendors as needed
Ensure launch assets are physically configured for upgrades and work areas are accessible by coordinating with launch pad and recovery vessel operations teams
Create and implement solutions for safe project site operations per SpaceX EH&S direction
Support project engineering team as needed with other project preparations and shop/field coordination
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalency certificate
1+ years of professional experience in a fabrication, production, or manufacturing environment
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Associate’s degree in a technical or business field
2+ years of experience in manufacturing planning or technical writing within a fabrication, production, or manufacturing environment
Experience of pipe fitting, and principals of welding
Experience in overhead cranes and forklifts
Experience with LEAN and 5S methodologies
Experience with inventory management, shipping/receiving, and material flow
Experience converting engineering instructions and information into content intended for a variety of audiences and ability levels
Experience with data analysis skills with Excel, Python, SQL, and/or other analysis tools
Experience reading technical drawings and schematics
Ability to communicate and collaborate with diverse co-workers within the engineering, technician, and leadership teams
Ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral
General physical fitness is required for some work areas, hardware typically is built in tight quarters and physical dexterity is required
Ability to lift heavy objects up to 30 lbs. unassisted
Valid driver’s license
Ability to work at elevated heights
Ability to work in extreme environments – heat, cold, rain, fumes, odors, and noise
Willing to work extended hours and weekends, as needed
