The ATLO (Assembly, Test, and Launch Operations) Electrical Test Engineer, Associate Manager position on the Orion program is intended to be a working test engineer and entry into leadership/management. This position requires a balance of technical test engineering expertise and managing the development, performance and execution of your assigned test engineers. The Orion Electrical Test Engineering Associate Manager will lead either Electro-Mechanical (ECLSS/Prop/Environments) Subsystems OR the Avionics Electrical Subsystems. Reporting to the Electrical Test Engineering Manager, this role is responsible for establishing engineering test procedure readiness and ensuring that all electrical test procedures are accurately defined, scripted, and validated. The associate manager will coordinate closely cross functional teams to secure resources, schedule test activities, and manage test data throughout the test lifecycle. The position also oversees the development and maintenance of Test Support Products (TSP). The successful candidate will act as the primary point of contact for test status, issue flagging, and procedural closure, ensuring that test outcomes meet all program requirements and schedule milestones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain engineering readiness for subsystem tests.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of electrical test procedures and automated test scripts for powered testing.
  • Perform checkout and qualification of electrical test procedures in Orion Test Labs (OTL).
  • Design, develop, and sustain Test Support Products (TSP) tools and associated documentation.
  • Provide technical support to engineering review boards (ERB, FRB, NRB, etc.)
  • Translate subsystem requirements into test/verification plans,
  • Generate inputs for test scheduling, including resource forecasts, shift assignments, and long-term capacity planning.
  • Serve as the primary authority for test execution, monitoring real-time status, and reporting progress to stakeholders.
  • Flag and resolve test anomalies, manage procedural closures, and ensure documentation is complete.
  • Plan and conduct Test Readiness Reviews (TRR) and lead post-test debriefs and lessons learned sessions.
  • Organize and chair pretest meetings, aligning cross functional teams on objectives, risks, and schedule.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s (or higher) in Electrical, Computer, Aerospace Engineering or a closely related degree with directly applicable experience.
  • 5+ years of spacecraft subsystem, electrical or mechanical test support for aerospace/defense programs with test engineering experience.
  • Ability to work & thrive in a fast paced, mission critical environment with tight schedule constraints

Desired Skills:

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Management, or a closely related discipline.
  • Active Test Conductor or Orion console position certification.
  • Proven capability to lead a multi disciplinary test team, allocate resources, and maintain morale across rotating crews.
  • Strong problem solving mindset and excellent written/oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency with calibration standards, precision cleaning protocols, and facility readiness criteria.
  • Familiarity with EGSE/MGSE or Avionics EFCPs, ground system management, and OCCB processes.
  • Ability to read and execute detailed test procedures and SOPs.
  • Proficiency with agile tools such as JIRA.

Ability to Work Remotely:

Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules:

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position:

9x80 every other Friday off
