Schedule: This is for weekend shift of 3/12s or 4/10s including Monday or Thursdays. Initial training would be needed to happen during the weekdays.

Job Summary

The Manufacturing and Test Equipment Technician supports production and engineering by building, maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving manufacturing and test equipment. This role performs electro-mechanical and optical assembly and test activities, supports test hardware and software development, and helps ensure safe, compliant, and well-documented processes that support product quality and operational efficiency.

Job Responsibilities

  • Test, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electronic, optical, and mechanical assemblies and test equipment
  • Assist with the build, integration, and debugging of test hardware, fixtures, and support equipment
  • Support development and debugging of test software using multiple software tools
  • Set up and conduct tests on units and components in accordance with established procedures and specifications
  • Assist in analyzing test results, documenting findings, and recommending improvements to products or test methods
  • Interpret drawings, schematics, assembly instructions, and engineering specifications to support manufacturing and testing
  • Assist in fabricating and assembling new or modified electrical and mechanical components or assemblies
  • Support routine engineering and production tasks with a hands-on approach
  • Complete process documentation such as bills of materials, work instructions, maintenance records, and related documentation as directed
  • Follow SOPs, work instructions, and safety requirements, including ESD and chemical handling procedures
  • Assist with the design, build, procurement, and implementation of improved tools, fixtures, and equipment
  • Support manufacturing process improvements, plant layout changes, and maintenance activities as needed
  • Interface with other departments to support efficient flow of materials and information
  • Assist in training new team members as needed
  • Manage multiple tasks and adjust priorities based on production and operational needs

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent hands-on experience in a related field
  • Good mechanical, electrical, and computer skills with basic troubleshooting capability
  • Experience handling small, delicate components and applying proper ESD practices
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and optical drawings, as well as system requirements documents
  • Proficiency with common computer applications and programming tools required; experience with Access, Excel, Python, C#, and LabVIEW preferred.
  • Soldering experience preferred; wire-bonding experience is a plus
  • Experience with safe chemical handling practices preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team

U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
