Description:
Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Design to support the development and production of a missile system.
What You Will Be Doing:
As a Mechanical Engineering Design Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the Integrated Product Team in creating detailed designs, layouts, and drawings for various components and subassemblies. You will play a key role in developing and generating CREO layouts, detailed drawings, and design documentation, ensuring seamless collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and generating CREO layouts and detailed drawings for ICDs, components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and integration test articles
- Building BOMs, creating parts, assemblies, and design documentation within Windchill PLM
- Coordinating with the IPT team, suppliers, GSC, electronic packaging, optics, and structural/thermal/material analysts to ensure design excellence
- Managing drawing releases, responding to CRs, generating CN's, and presenting/supporting change boards and design reviews
- Performing design trade studies to evaluate cost, weight, performance, and structural/thermal benefits
MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant industry.
- Proficient in Computer Aided Design (CREO or Solid Works).
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5 and ability to perform complex detailed part and subsystem tolerance analysis
- Have the ability to generate engineering drawings, documents, parts lists and specifications
- Have the ability to work with minimal oversight or supervision
- Active secret security clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
Desired Skills:
- Hands-on experience with machining, rapid prototyping, or lab equipment (CNC, 3-D printers, test rigs)
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Model-Based Definition (MBD).
- Experience with aerospace hardware such as structures, optical or radio frequency (RF) sensors, energetics, propulsion, or flight control systems.
- Experience with phases of aerospace systems lifecycle from proposal and capture efforts, development, transition to production, production, and sustainment.
Security Clearance Statement:
This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely:
Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position:
4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
