Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Manager Engineering, Product Support 2 to join our team of individuals within our Product Support organization supporting the Multi-Domain Command & Control (MDC2) Business Unit. The position will be in Melbourne, FL. This leadership position will be full-time in the office with nominal travel responsibilities, including potential for international travel.

This role will support and work directly with the E-2C/D Domestic and International Program Offices, as well as other programs under the MDC2 portfolio, as well as supporting customer operations in a variety of locations, and include all aspects for overseeing, sustaining operations, and providing timely, knowledge-based Product Support Engineering Integration and Execution. Position will have direct supervisory and/or management responsibilities for a team of Product Support technical leads assigned to the various programs.

Primary duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to driving mission readiness, from design influence and inception, through flight test and fielding, fleet operations including support equipment, sustainment, and modernization. As required, support weapon system decommission by providing technical and logistical support directly to the customers and warfighters maintaining and operating our weapon systems.

Proactively supervise associated and/or required deliverables from other Product Support functions responsible for Supportability, Reliability, Maintainability and Testability (RM&T), Modeling & Simulation, Prognostics & Health Management (PHM), Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Materiel Shortages (DMSMS), Support Equipment Engineering (SEE), Technical Publications, Supply Hardware, and Training.

In this role, the selected candidate will be expected to be responsible for the following:

  • Cost Account Manager (CAM) coordinating with cost and schedule management teams to maintain Earned Value Management System (EVMS) work packages and program schedules.
  • Oversee and manage new projects and serve as liaison between cost/schedule management and Product Support functional department.
  • Analyze cost and schedule inputs, support management reviews, and prepare and/or present briefings to leadership.
  • Effectively communicate program metrics to both internal and external Customer leadership communities with regard to cost and schedule.
  • Coordinate the schedule and cost baseline for all activities within the Product Support organization.
  • Provide functional support to employees, including staffing and performance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and minimum of 9 years of related professional/military experience OR master’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with minimum of 7 years of related professional/military experience.
  • Possess rudimentary understanding and application of Product Support Technical Discipline principles, concepts, practices, and standards and proficient project management skills to oversee and execute role and responsibilities.
  • Experience leading a team and/or project and interfacing with external customers.
  • Adept knowledge of earned value processes and procedures.
  • An active government Secret clearance with Periodic Review/Investigation within the last 7 years.
  • Must have ability to obtain and maintain Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
  • Ability to travel as needed (approx. 25%).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
  • Experience in Project Management or Project Engineering.
  • Proposal experience.
  • Familiarization with all twelve Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Integrated Product Support (IPS) Elements

Primary Level Salary Range: $126,600.00 - $189,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
