Job Description
The Level 5 Lead, Material Manager is a senior-level professional responsible for leading complex material planning, execution, analysis, and risk mitigation activities for programs of significant scope and value. This role serves as a functional representative and subject matter expert, working independently while leading cross-functional collaboration across Supply Chain, Production Planning, Engineering, Finance, Quality, Program Management, and Logistics.
The position requires advanced knowledge of material management systems, forecasting, EVMS, root cause corrective action, inventory strategy, and supply chain risk management. The Level 5 Lead also mentors team members, supports audits and customer interactions, and drives process improvements that enhance material availability, compliance, and operational performance. This role will support the Military Avionics production and development programs.
Essential Functions
- Independently manage complex material management assignments and delegate tasks as appropriate.
- Lead and support material status reviews and provide data-driven program updates to management and leadership.
- Serve as a functional representative and subject matter expert for internal teams, customers, and auditors.
- Apply Supply Chain principles and concepts in compliance with FAR, DFARS, MAAR 13, and MMAS.
- Support financial forecasting for Supply Chain labor and material, including EAC/ETC inputs, variance analysis, and EVMS reporting. Act as the certified CAM.
- Ensure alignment of IMS/MRP material reporting with IMPDAR and EVMS requirements.
- Analyze cross-functional data to identify trends, risks, and performance issues; develop and implement action plans.
- Lead root cause and corrective action efforts for demand, transactional, receiving, and supply-related issues.
- Collaborate with Production Planning, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, Quality, Logistics, and Program Management to support build plan execution and risk mitigation.
- Develop strategies for inventory not planned by MRP.
- Expedite FMR and MTO approvals and provide training and process guidance.
- Support material-related closeout activities including deliveries, open commitments, subcontract closeout, and residual inventory disposition.
- Mentor, coach, and train team members as needed.
- Lead special projects and other assigned functional initiatives.
- Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills
- 10+ years of experience using MRP systems software.
- Master Production Scheduling experience.
- Experience in U.S. DoD manufacturing.
