The Northrop Grumman CIDO team is seeking an IT Asset Management Analyst to support full lifecycle of program hardware and software assets – from intake and procurement through deployment, maintenance, and disposal – to optimize costs, ensure license compliance, and reduce security and audit risks on a classified program. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site, full-time at our Melbourne, FL location.

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Focus primarily on assets hosted in Melbourne, FL and Redondo Beach, CA data centers
- Close coordination with CIDO ITAM, Industrial Security, Global Supply Chain (GSC), Systems Engineering, the Data Center Manager, and other IT stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate inventories and ensuring that the program’s IT infrastructure runs smoothly, efficiently, and in accordance with classified environment requirements.
- Own the end‑to‑end lifecycle of hardware and software assets from intake/request and approval, through procurement, receipt, tagging, deployment, in‑service tracking, maintenance/refresh, and final retirement and disposal.
- Coordinate with Property Management for asset tagging and traceability, and with Industrial Security for destruction runs and media sanitization.
- Design, document, and operate standardized intake processes for all program IT assets.
- Manage software licenses, including entitlement and deployment tracking, usage monitoring, and compliance reporting.
- Develop and implement a SAM intake and approval process to govern new software requests, ensure contractual compliance, and maintain accurate entitlement records.
- Prepare and maintain evidence and reporting to support software audits and true‑up activities.
- Maintain accurate records of all data center hardware assets (servers – physical and virtual – storage, and network equipment) in the designated ITAM/CMDB tools.
- Reconcile ITAM data with Property and Security records to ensure consistency across systems of record.
- Analyze asset and usage data to identify unused or underutilized resources and recommend optimization actions.
- Partner with CIDO ITAM, GSC, Procurement, and Enterprise vendor management to provide data that informs contract negotiations, renewals, and true‑ups.
- Support long‑term cost optimization initiatives as the ITAM function matures.
- Ensure data quality within ITAM/SAM tools through routine validation and reconciliation activities.
- Produce regular reports and dashboards on software usage, hardware utilization, lifecycle status, and upcoming refresh/renewal events for program and leadership stakeholders.
- Support internal and external audits by providing inventory, license, and lifecycle documentation.
- Maintain a complete and accurate inventory of all program hardware and software within the Melbourne and Redondo Beach data centers, including location, ownership, configuration, and usage.
- Retain lifecycle documentation (quotes, POs, packing slips, configuration docs, disposal certificates, etc.) to support traceability and compliance.
- Analyze ITAM data to inform capacity planning, hardware refresh strategy, software consolidation, and asset retirement timelines.
- Provide data‑driven recommendations to Systems Engineering, the Data Center Manager, and program leadership.
- Updating ITAM/SAM tools and inventory systems with new hardware and software acquisitions and lifecycle changes.
- Reconciling software license entitlements vs. deployments and preparing for internal and external audits.
- Identifying and reallocating underutilized software licenses to reduce costs and maintain compliance.
- Collaborating with IT staff (Network, System Administrators, Systems Engineers, Project Managers), Property Management, and Industrial Security to track hardware locations, conduct periodic physical inventories in the Melbourne and Redondo Beach data centers, and coordinate destruction/sanitization events.
Basic Qualifications
- Master's Degree with 0 years of relevant experience; OR a Bachelor's Degree with 2 years of relevant experience; OR an Associate's Degree with 4 years of relevant experience; OR a High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 6 years of relevant experience is required
- Candidates must have a current US Government Secret level security clearance (or higher) in order to be considered and have the ability to obtain a US Government Top Secret as a condition of continued employment
- Candidates must have the ability to obtain access to Special Programs as a condition of employment
- Experience with IT Asset Management/Software Asset Management tools and/or Configuration Management Database (CMDB) (ex. Flexera, FlexNet Manager, and ServiceNow)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Active Top Secret, SCI, SAP/SAR access, or Polygraph
- Security+ CE certification
- Strong understanding of data center technologies (servers, storage, network infrastructure) and enterprise software.
- Ability to interpret and analyze asset, usage, and cost data to support procurement, optimization, and strategic planning.
- Experience collaborating with Procurement Analysts, GSC, Systems Engineering, Data Center, Network, and Business Application teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work with IT, Property Management, Industrial Security, Procurement, Finance, and vendor teams to implement and improve IT asset management processes and standards.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and stakeholder engagement.

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
