Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Mechanical Engineer to join our team, responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing the reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities. Our ideal candidate will have an experienced mechanical engineering background with an in-depth understanding of various mechanical systems, including HVAC, compressed air, vacuum, DI water, plumbing, and site utilities.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Facilities Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing facility and equipment modifications, ensuring compliance with company and government restrictions. You will gather and review data to inform design decisions, coordinate with architecture/engineering firms, and prepare estimates for construction and facilities acquisition. You will also inspect construction and installation progress and collect requirements from customers.

- Coordinate with architecture/engineering firms to develop design criteria, prepare layout and detail drawings, and manage the design review process.
- Prepare estimates for construction and facilities acquisition, including equipment, installation, labor, materials, and related costs.
- Inspect construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules.
- Collect requirements from customers.
- Perform field verification of drawings, load calculations, and pipe sizing.
- Organize and maintain a record drawing system, coordinating with architecture/engineering firms on releases of as-built drawings and models.
- Troubleshoot and solve mechanical/electrical problems of moderate scope and complexity.
- Increase reliability, determine root causes of failure, develop corrective actions, and monitor effectiveness.
- Manage outside A&E firms through the project design process, overseeing design review at multiple stages.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
