Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Electronics Technician Level 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Integration, Test and Evaluation organization. This role is located in Melbourne Florida.

In this role you will be supporting Lab Operations. Duties will consist of assisting with laboratory design and assisting in the execution of test procedures. In this role you will ensure test stations and assets are configured and ready to test by deploying software and configuring hardware on test stations. In addition, you will work closely with QA to maintain and validate test station software and hardware. Participation in acceptance testing and integration events will also be required. The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels.

Please note: A start date, for candidates selected, will be determined after obtaining Special Program Access (SAP).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works under little to no supervision.
  • Performs routine technical functions related to the support of development engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, and assembly of electronics and Electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, prototype models or specialized test equipment.
  • Applications may include analog, digital and/or video type circuits and logic systems.
  • Guidance is readily available from engineering.
  • Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform routine testing, checkout, troubleshooting, prototype building, environmental testing, and simple developmental engineering tasks.
  • Performs routine operational tests and fault isolation on development systems and equipment to ensure conformance with design specifications.
  • Diagnoses and isolates malfunctions down to component level.
  • Conducts defined engineering tests and collects data as assigned.
  • Utilizes routine development or diagnostic equipment including oscilloscope, VOM, DVM, signal generators and similar test apparatus.
  • Normally assigned in area such as development, engineering, test equipment design, or the like. Excludes those assigned to production test activities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED AND 6 years of related professional/military experience such as Avionics, Electrical Technician, etc.
  • Experience in lab operations, lab troubleshooting and/or aircraft maintenance.
  • Must have an Active, In-Scope DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
  • The ability to obtain Special Programs Access (SAP) prior to the commencement of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates in Applied Science in Electronics
  • 10 years of related experience or 10 years of Military Aircraft
  • Experience in Aircraft Sensor Systems.
  • Experienced in reading and comprehending schematic diagrams.
  • Utilizes routine development or diagnostic equipment including oscilloscope, VOM, DVM, signal generators and similar test apparatus.
  • Experienced with Electronic Principles, MIL STD protocol for 1553, 429, and 1394 buses.
  • Familiarity with avionics systems and equipment, Test Stations, or Lab Operations.
  • Experience with software deployments and deployments tools.
  • Active Special Programs Access (SAP).

Primary Level Salary Range: $68,300.00 - $113,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
