This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a variety of projects including commercial retail renovations, fleet and maintenance facilities, community centers, aviation projects, transportation and rail facilities, and municipal infrastructure.

In this role, you will contribute to the design and delivery of reliable, code-compliant electrical power systems supporting construction and infrastructure projects. You will be involved from early design through construction, ensuring systems are practical, buildable, and aligned with project schedules, budgets, and client expectations.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform electrical engineering design for power distribution systems in commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects
  • Develop one-line diagrams, panel schedules, feeder sizing, and equipment layouts for new and renovation projects
  • Design electrical systems including switchgear, switchboards, transformers, panelboards, and feeders up to 600V
  • Perform load calculations, short circuit, and coordination studies using SKM, EasyPower, or similar tools
  • Prepare construction documents (plans, details, and specifications) using AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM platforms
  • Coordinate closely with civil, mechanical, structural, and architectural teams to ensure constructability and code compliance
  • Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and support construction administration activities
  • Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions and support field coordination
  • Identify and communicate design issues, conflicts, and scope changes proactively

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
  • 4+ years of experience in electrical power and construction design
  • FE exam passed or ability to pass within 6 months of hire
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
  • Experience with electrical analysis software (SKM PTW, EasyPower, or similar)
  • Working knowledge of the NEC and applicable building codes
  • Experience with power systems ranging from low-voltage control (24V) to 600V, 3-phase distribution
  • Familiarity with construction documents and field coordination

Ideally, You’ll Also Have

  • Experience with Revit and BIM coordination workflows
  • Exposure to construction administration (RFIs, submittals, site support)
  • Experience working in active/operational facilities and renovation projects
  • Understanding of utility coordination (service applications, transformers, fault current data, etc.)
  • Strong communication and coordination skills across disciplines and with contractors
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Interest in developing toward a Professional Engineer (PE) license
