Job Description
The Portfolio Director for the Surface & Airborne Integrated Systems (SAIS) portfolio within Maritime’s Acoustic Systems (AS) business will run and grow a $80M+ portfolio, responsible for cost, schedule, and technical components of the business. The successful candidate will provide customers (domestic and international) with highly capable sonar, acoustic ceramics, and acoustic processing capabilities across multiple contract types. Essential Functions:
- Directs all phases of Surface & Airborne Integrated Systems (SAIS) portfolio, reporting directly to the Acoustics GM
- Drives portfolio execution to achieve key business and financial objectives for orders, revenue recognition, operating income, and free cash flow for new, continuing, or current programs
- Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of all SAIS programs
- Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes
- Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, performance Statement of Work (SOW) and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract
- Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customers to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance
- Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test
- Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocating resources or changing contractual specifications
- Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas
- Expands the product line with the customer including production orders, technical change orders, and adjacent markets
- Other duties as assigned
- Ability to travel up to 40%
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience, or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
- Ability to obtain Secret level clearance which requires US citizenship
- Experience with development, transition to production, and low-rate production programs
- Requires 12-16 years’ experience and expert level knowledge leading a portfolio with Earned Value Management
- Experience leading a highly visible and fast paced portfolio
- Experience to quickly synthesize data and provide executive level presentations
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Strong EQ, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office products
- Prior experience as a Program Manager to international customer and / or major prime contractor
- Undersea systems experience
- Active Secret Clearance
- PMP Certification
