Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Digital Transformation Integration/Manufacturing Engineer at Kennedy Space Center, Florida to plan and author procedures for the Orion Spacecraft Elements Team and provide floor support for Mechanical and Electrical Integration environments.
The applicant will perform specific duties to include, but are not limited to:
- Creates and maintains Augmented Reality (AR) scenes for clickbond, heater patching, instrumentation, harness routing and drill block installations.
- Plans and authors procedures for the Orion Spacecraft Elements Team and provides floor support for a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Performs various duties including creating and/or developing manufacturing work instructions.
- Determines the sequence of build, selecting or designing required tools, and solves production problems during the build of mechanical/electrical integration and assemblies.
- Manages time effectively and ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
- Trouble shoot and correct anomalies with AR tools, Virtual Vehicle scenes and/or discrepant hardware.
- Effective communicator, routinely interfaces with program personnel and reports project status to leadership. To include but not limited to contributing to weekly activity reports
- Assist in training and onboarding efforts.
- Find and assist process improvement efforts. Assist in developing new uses for Digital Transformation Tools.
- Primarily supporting 1st shift on a 9-80 schedule A-Track (approximately 6am-3:30pm). On occasion may need to support weekend and/or 2nd shifts as needed to support program needs.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Computer Science, Software or Manufacturing Engineering preferred) and 2+ years of experience in an engineering role.
- Maintain a positive, collaborative attitude and contribute to a constructive workplace culture.
- Perform assigned duties with competence, reliability, and a focus on quality outcomes.
- Advanced Skills in the Microsoft Office software suite.
- Position is permanently located on-site at KSC, FL. Ability to travel as necessary.
- Must be a US citizen
Desired Skills:
- Experience and understanding of configuration management practices and databases such as Windchill, EPDM, or similar.
- Experience with CAD software such as Creo Parametric and CreoView (or any related Parametric modeling tools).
- Experience with AR software such as Vuforia and/or model decimation tools such as Pixyz.
- Proficiency in collaborative development tools such as GIT.
- Proficiency in software languages such as Python and Java-script.
- Experience designing, developing, and implementing RESTful APIs.
- Experience with harness routing/assembly, instrumentation, adhesive mounts, and hardware installations.
- Knowledge of production manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Knowledge of Design For Manufacturing and Assembly (DFM/DFMA).
- Experience reviewing and interpreting engineering drawings and providing technical feedback to engineering.

Ability to Work Remotely:
Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
