We are seeking a Database Engineer to support the US NDC OSS II Program. This role blends database engineering, performance optimization, and integration support with ongoing operational DBA responsibilities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and maintain SQL and PL/SQL code
- Perform database performance tuning and query optimization
- Support database upgrades, patches, and environment refreshes
- Collaborate with application teams to ensure seamless database integration
- Assist with troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis
- Contribute to database design improvements, standards, and best practices
- Participate in on‑call rotation and occasional after‑hours support
- Support mission continuity and long‑term knowledge retention
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of related experience. Additional experience, training, and/or certifications may substitute degree requirement.
- US Citizen; Currently possessing DoD Top Secret clearance with ability to upgrade to a TS/SBI clearance upon hire.
- IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security+ or equivalent)
- Strong expertise with Oracle databases, SQL, and PL/SQL
- Hands‑on experience with performance tuning and operational database support
- Background supporting mission‑critical or operational systems
- Experience with Oracle GoldenGate for data replication, synchronization, and high-availability architectures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree with 2+ years related experience
- Prior DoD 24×7 mission support experience
- Experience mentoring database engineers or DBAs
- Experience supporting databases in cloud or hybrid cloud environments including migration, integration, and performance considerations.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00
