Associate Facilities Plant Maintenance Specialist

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Facilities Plant Maintenance Specialist (level A) to support our Experimental Systems Group (ESG) at Kennedy Space Center, FL.

ESG supports a variety of government customers spanning technology domains, and is a fast-paced, responsive development environment delivering new capabilities to customers rapidly and affordably. The ESG portfolio consists of a range of platforms and technologies including the X-37B, the world’s first fully autonomous reusable spaceplane, which recently landed from its seventh and most ambitious flight yet.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Under direct supervision, perform routine cleaning and sanitization of clean room areas, including floors, walls, and equipment, following established protocols
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and common areas, ensuring they are stocked with necessary supplies
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in all areas of the facility
  • Dust and wipe down surfaces, including furniture, fixtures, and equipment
  • Empty trash receptacles and replace liners as needed
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel
  • Assist with minor repairs and maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, fixing leaks, and performing routine inspections of facilities
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on cleaning equipment and report any malfunctions
  • Support facility upgrades and renovations as needed, including moving furniture and equipment
  • Properly dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous waste in accordance with safety regulations and company policies
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and materials, ensuring adequate stock levels for operations
  • Clean and maintain specialized equipment and tools used in the clean room, ensuring they are free from contaminants
  • Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, including dates, times, and areas cleaned, to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and reporting any safety hazards
  • Work closely with engineering and production teams to understand specific cleaning requirements and schedules
  • Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices for clean room maintenance and safety procedures

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Ability to lift at least 35lbs
  • Experience working from heights & using fall protection equipment
  • Able to work nights and weekends, as needed
  • Able to work on-call, as needed
  • Experience in janitorial/custodial services
  • Experience with Facilities or Maintenance

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of experience working with Haztrax & Material Safety Data (MSDS)
  • Experience working across organizations and cross-functional groups to ensure project coordination, implementation and completion
  • Ability to work independently
  • Forklift or Man lift experience
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, assembly, or aerospace environment
